2005-09-01 - PC Games Hardware: "Good design - solid technology"

For quite a while it was hard to find a matching DVD writer for a Shuttle XPC. Well, those days are over now! The editors of the German hardware magazine PC Games Hardware recently put 15 DVD writers and the Shuttle CR40 earned an overall score of 2.01.

The Shuttle CR40 impressed the editorial team of the German hardware magazine PC Games Hardware with "good design" and "solid technology". The design is kept similar in colors of Shuttle XPCs for a homogeneous looking front. Optical aspects apart, the Shuttle CR40 earned a lot of praise for performance as well: "It managed with 101 ms (CD) and 99 ms (DVD) good response times, while the writing times with 5:58 minutes (DVD+) and 6:07 minutes (DVD-) were good as well." Furthermore, the editors had "no problems" with the writer reading all nine blank disks used for the test." And it was very fast in all: "Positive: It just took it twelve seconds to make a medium available."
