2005-06-23 - CHIP Test&Kauf: "Impressive in every respect"

"Impressive in every respect," concluded the editors of the German IT-magazine CHIP Test&Kauf. What were they writing about? The "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5," based on the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN95G5 and which finished first out of eight competing SFF PCs in a round up. But the "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5" was not the only Shuttle XPC that joined the candidates and found new fans among its editors. Being rated "Good" for price/performance the "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5" proudly left the labs of CHIP Test&Kauf.

"Who builds the best SFF PCs around?" This was the question to answer for the editors of Germany-based CHIP Test&Kauf in a round up of eight fully-configured SFF PCs. Apart from noise level and equipment the editors had their eyes on performance. Having been labeled a "quiet performer," one can guess from the headline what the "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5," based on the Shuttle XPC Barebones SN95G5, features: low noise and performance.

And this SFF PC kept its promises and met the editors' expectations. "The result was impressive in every respect: Even under full load it produced at 1.1 Sone - nearly inaudible," the editors were happy to report, and rated it 97 out of 100 points in terms of noise. One may think that low noise operation requires restrictions in terms of performance. But the "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5" can manage both: "Users don't need to fear a lack of performance at all." Even for gaming the editors found it delivered "good performance." Furthermore, it offers "good value for money," so one won't have to spend a lot of money for "such an extremely quiet PC."
