2005-06-23 - Bit Tech: "Stylish looks, great performance"
Some people are still sceptical about moving from conventional big PCs to small, stylish cubes. But why? "Everything is neatly packed away in a tiny package and you know everything works and is designed to fit." Additionally "stylish looks, [and] great performance" are included as the editors of Bit Tech UK found out while testing the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P.
The Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P joined the famous product line of Shuttle XPCs - and this addition deserved a closer look! Taking off the case one would wish for a tidy and clean interior. Shuttle delivers, while managing to "pay special attention to the cable routing: everything has its place and is routed to keep everything as tidy as possible." The system is ready for you to integrate hard disks and any other components. One might expect a messy interior from the spacious P-case, but all cables are pre-routed to make the next step of installing the components "a damn sight easier." Once set up, nothing but performance counts for this gaming rig. Speaking of performance, "it can perform as well or better than any full ATX board out on the market at the moment." Additionally it is even ready to integrate dual slot graphics cards for the latest gaming experience. The gaming fan needn't to do without maximum storage capacity by throwing in three hard drives. "There's never been a better time to throw away your huge ATX rig and opt for a small form factor PC," write the editors. No wonder then that the SFF PC fever quickly grew on the editors. "Everything is neatly packed away in a tiny package and you know everything works and is designed to fit," wrote the editors of Bit Tech. In conclusion the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P "is a nice change." Given that "you'll get everything you need in a Shuttle XPC - it pays for itself!"
Conclusion:
"So, not only is it versatile and performs well, but it looks excellent and is extremely well built. I think its time to throw out your ATX case and upgrade."
