After having reviewed some other SFF PCs, the hardware experts at UK's IT-website TrustedReviews decided to see if the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P could keep up with them. The moment of truth has arrived!
How do you design a barebone that will become regular on the LAN-party circuit? Gamers need power and nothing but power offered by powerful dual slot graphics cards: "The SN25P is also one of only a few SFF PCs in which you could install a graphics card with a dual slot cooler," write the editors. So gamers don't need to fear to do without punch-packing graphics performance. What else is desirable in such a PC? Unwrapping the package, users want to get cracking right away. And the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P also meets these expectation: "Assembling the SN25P is quite straightforward and the hard drives are far easier to install than in the [competitor's model] due to the screw less drive rails." But this is by far not all the editors liked about the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P. Compared with its competitors, "Shuttle has better audio, the ability to use graphics cards with dual slot cooling solutions, space for an additional drive and let’s not forget a much better looking case," they add. "Overall the Shuttle XPC SN25P is a very impressive SFF barebone." But how about the question asked at the beginning, can it keep up with other SFF PCs? "The SN25P offers that little bit more and Shuttle has just managed to win me over," the editors write in their summary.
Conclusion:
"The XPC SN25P is yet more proof why Shuttle is the clear leader in the SFF market, not only does it offer the best looking systems out there, but the hardware is also top notch."
